Evangeline Area Pack 223

welcome to pack 223 beau bassin district we are located in the heart of Acadiana at the Evangeline Area Council, Lafayette, Louisiana. Our pack is brand new and “under construction” so to speak. We are excited about all the great plans that are in store for our pack, our church and our community. We are sponsored by The Family Church and Lafaytte Christian Academy. Our goal is to guide our boys through their young years, to teach them skills they will carry into their youth, strengthen bonds between families and also to prepare them for a future in scouting. More importantly, we just want to encourage fun by creating a safe learning environment where kids can be themselves and have a great time. Welcome to Cub Scouts!

	patriotism the foundation for our scouting program -- “to do my duty to God and my country”. Scouting teaches that patriotism plays an important role in preparing youth to become useful and participating citizens of our great nation.
	cub scouts learn many useful skills in scouting, such as dexterity and coordination in crafting and building. Along with that, they also study diverse subjects like fitness, community awareness, sports and religious activities.

	tigers this program is geared towards boys 6 years of age or the first grade. It is the very first level in scouting.
	wolves the next step of training is the wolves den which is designed specifically for 7 year olds or second grade.
	bears this den is for boys who have either reached 8 years of age or up to third grade.
	webelos these boys are in the fourth and fifth grades and are 9 to 10 years old . This is the very last level of cub scouting until boys advance to the next degree in scouting - boy scouts.
